Benefit Party for Belmar Pro Hits Langosta Lounge

Asbury Park, NJ – April 29, 2010: Summer’s in the air, and surfers are gearing up for one of the highlights of the season: the Foster’s Belmar Pro surf tournament in September.

Langosta Lounge on the Asbury Park boardwalk is hosting a benefit party for the Foster’s Belmar Pro on Saturday, May 8th. The event, scheduled from 3 to 7 pm, will feature live entertainment by Barry & The Penetrators, a tempting array of Langosta appetizers, prizes and raffles, including a chance to win a Foster’s surfboard. Guests 21 and over will be treated to drink specials from Foster’s and Don Q mojitos and pina coladas. Admission is $10.

Don Tarrant of Eastern Lines Surf Shop, the tournament organizer, is excited about this year’s lineup. “The Foster’s Belmar Pro hits the beach for two big weekends in 2010: the Belmar Pro Amateur on September 11 and 12 and Pro series on September 17, 18 and 19th, including the Fins ASP Pro Junior event, an Open Pro men’s, Pro women’s and a Pro longboard contest,” says Tarrant. “We’re expecting competitors from all over the East Coast and beyond.”

In addition to Foster’s and Fins, sponsors of the Belmar Pro include O’Neill, Skull Candy, Lost, Ergo, Ocean Lifestyles and Lightly Salted. For details and information on sponsor and display opportunities, please call 732.747.4449. For more info on the Belmar Pro, visit www.BelmarPro.com.

Seafood Chefs Prepare For Battle at the New Jersey Crab Cake Festival & Shore Chef Cook-Off

Oceanport, NJ – April 19, 2010:  Top chefs from across New Jersey will abandon their restaurant kitchens on August 21st and 22nd to compete in the 4th Annual Shore Chef Cook-Off at the New Jersey Crab Cake Festival, held at Monmouth Park Racetrack.

A dozen eateries are expected including Red, the sophisticated restaurant and lounge in Red Bank, winner of last year’s Best Crab Cake award from a panel of judges led by the Munchmobile’s Pete Genovese. Also preparing to defend its title is Manahawkin’s casual Mud City Crab House, which took home 2009 Best of the Rest honors. Bahrs Landing of Highlands, a perennial Jersey Shore favorite that’s been serving seafood since 1917, will also return to challenge the competition.

Foodies from all over New Jersey and beyond flock to the event to enjoy the array of mouth-watering seafood, cast their votes for People’s Choice Awards, and enter to win great prizes. Live music featuring C-Note on Saturday and Cats on a Smooth Surface rocks the festival, and Sunday is Star-Ledger Family Fun Day, with attractions for children including clowns, face painters, live music, pony rides, and more.

Gates open at 11:30 a.m. and Monmouth Park’s thoroughbred racing takes place both Saturday and Sunday beginning at 12:50 p.m. Festival hours are 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Grandstand admission, which includes admission to the festival area, is just $3. Children 12 and under are always free. Food prices vary. Monmouth Park Racetrack is located at 175 Oceanport Avenue, Oceanport, NJ, off Exit 105 of the Garden State Parkway. New Jersey Transit’s North Jersey Coast Line’s Monmouth Park train stop is just steps away from the track entrance. Visit www.monmouthpark.com or call 732-222-5100 for additional information. Restaurants seeking to compete, please contact Spark Market Solutions at 732-747-4449 or info@sparkmybiz.com.
